Bass Hunter Slot Review
SlotTribe 250 Spin Test – Date: 10 October 2026 – Result: -163.00 – Bonuses: 1 – Biggest Win: 38x
Overview
Bass Hunter is Thunderkick’s August 2026 fishing slot — a 3×5, 10‑payline machine built around Cash Fish, Jackpot Fish, Mystery Fish and a Hunter Respin mechanic that tries to keep the grid alive. On paper it sounds like a lively little fishing slot, but in reality it’s a much harsher experience than most Thunderkick releases. The theme is calm wilderness, peaceful water, gentle fishing vibes — but the gameplay is anything but calm.
The slot revolves around landing fish symbols with different behaviours: Cash Fish for instant wins, Jackpot Fish for bigger hits, and Mystery Fish for random surprises. The Hunter Respin feature is meant to give the base game some momentum, and the Bonus Game adds multipliers to try and push wins higher. But Bass Hunter is one of those slots where the potential feels locked behind a wall, and the base game doesn’t give you much to work with.
Our test session was brutal from start to finish. Wins were rare, the balance slid constantly, and the bonus took forever to land. When it finally arrived, it paid a modest 38x — not enough to rescue the session. Bass Hunter clearly can do more, but today it didn’t show any of it.

Mick’s Take
Didn’t like this slot at all — brutal from start to finish. Wins were few and far between, and the whole thing felt like it was dragging its feet. Hit the bonus once on spin 164 for a 38x, which was fine, but nowhere near enough to make up for the battering the balance took. Just didn’t enjoy it. Felt flat, stingy, and way too dry for a fishing slot.

Gameplay & Features
Cash Fish
Cash Fish symbols carry instant win values. Land them with the right feature active and they pay immediately. They’re the bread‑and‑butter of the slot, but in our session they didn’t show up often enough to matter.
Jackpot Fish
Jackpot Fish are the bigger prize symbols. They can deliver stronger wins when collected, but they’re rare and heavily dependent on the Hunter Respin or bonus features to actually trigger. They add excitement when they appear, but they didn’t do much today.
Mystery Fish
Mystery Fish reveal random prizes when collected. They can flip into decent values, but again, they rely on the slot actually giving you a chance to collect them. In our session, they mostly sat there doing nothing.
Hunter Respin Feature
The Hunter Respin is meant to keep the action alive. When triggered, it locks certain symbols and respins the remaining reels to try and build a better win. It’s a simple mechanic, but it didn’t fire often enough to save the base game from feeling dry.
Bonus Game – Free Spins
Trigger the bonus and you get Free Spins with increased multipliers. This is where Bass Hunter is supposed to shine — multipliers stacking, fish values rising, and the chance to land something meaningful. Our bonus hit on spin 164 and paid 38x, which was okay but nowhere near the slot’s potential. The bonus feels like it can go big, but today it didn’t.
Volatility & Behaviour
Bass Hunter behaves like a high volatility slot with long dead stretches and rare payouts. The base game is extremely dry, and the features don’t fire often enough to keep the balance stable. The bonus is the only real chance to recover, but even that can be modest. Our session was a perfect example: one bonus, tiny wins, and a heavy decline in the balance.
Graphics & Sound
The visuals are clean — calm water, fishing gear, wilderness vibes — and the sound design is gentle and atmospheric. It’s a nice presentation, but the gameplay doesn’t match the mood. The slot looks relaxing but plays aggressively.

SlotTribe Verdict
Bass Hunter looks calm and inviting, but the gameplay is brutal. Our 250-spin test was rough — one bonus, tiny wins, and a heavy balance drop. The slot clearly has potential with its multipliers and fish features, but today it didn’t show any of it. If you like harsh, high-volatility fishing slots, you might enjoy the chase. Otherwise, Bass Hunter is a tough ride.
