Le Fisherman Slot Review
Overview
Le Fisherman is Hacksaw Gaming’s 2026 entry into the Rainbow Cash Collect series, running on a volatile 5×6 grid packed with Golden Squares, Epic Rainbows and three powerful bonus rounds. This one is far more explosive than Le Sortudo thanks to its upgraded mechanics, larger grid, and a massive 15,000x max win potential. Cash values drop frequently, Golden Squares build huge setups, and the Big Catch Bar supercharges Rainbow activations inside the bonus rounds.
Today’s SlotTribe test run showed exactly how brutal Le Fisherman can be when the Rainbow refuses to cooperate. Despite multiple bonus teases and several massive Golden Square setups, the Rainbow never landed at the right time, resulting in a rough session. But make no mistake — this slot can go absolutely nuclear when everything aligns.

Mick’s Take
Disappointed with that. Had loads of bonus teases and some massive grids but could never get the Rainbow to hit at the same time. Highest win was a 17x, but I know for a fact this one can do better. It’s clearly capable of big hits, but today’s session was one of those where everything lined up except the one thing you actually needed. Brutal run, but I wouldn’t write it off — this slot has serious potential when the Rainbow behaves.

Gameplay & Features
Le Fisherman uses a 5×6 cluster pays grid with cascading wins, Golden Squares, cash values, Buckets, Clovers and Rainbow activations. The larger layout allows the slot to build monstrous setups, especially when Golden Squares stack across multiple rows. Cash values appear frequently, and the slot often creates screens that look ready to explode — but the Rainbow timing is everything.
Golden Squares
Winning combinations turn into Golden Squares.
If a Rainbow symbol is present, it activates those Golden Squares after wins are collected and reveals:
- Coins (instant cash prizes)
- Green Clovers (boost nearby Coins)
- Gold Clovers (boost all Coins on the grid)
- Buckets (collect Coins and activated Buckets in adjacent 3×3 areas)
- Global Buckets (collect all Coins and Buckets on the entire grid)
This mechanic is the backbone of Le Fisherman’s potential, especially when multiple Golden Squares stack together.
Epic Rainbow
Epic Rainbows reveal Special symbols on all positions on the grid.
Activation works exactly like a normal Rainbow — but across the entire board.
This is one of the strongest features in the game and can create insane collect moments.
Bonus Games
Le Fisherman features three bonus rounds, each with upgraded mechanics and enhanced Rainbow behaviour.
On Thin Ice – 3 FS Scatters
10 free spins where:
- Golden Squares remain highlighted until activated
- Big Catch Bar provides more powerful Rainbows
This is the entry-level bonus but still capable of strong setups.
Slippery When Wet – 4 FS Scatters
10 free spins with:
- Golden Squares remain highlighted even after activation
- Big Catch Bar active throughout
This bonus is significantly stronger thanks to persistent Golden Squares.
Smokey Under Water – 5 FS Scatters
The Hidden Epic Bonus:
- 10 free spins
- Big Catch Bar stays at the highest level
- Golden Squares remain highlighted even after activation
This is the top-tier bonus and the most volatile version of the game.
Screens can explode instantly if the Rainbow hits at the right time.
High Volatility Engine
Le Fisherman is extremely volatile. The 5×6 grid allows for massive setups, but the slot can go cold for long stretches, teasing huge Golden Square screens without delivering the collect. The 15,000x max win shows the slot’s true potential — when the Rainbow hits a stacked grid, the payout can be monstrous.

SlotTribe Verdict
Le Fisherman is a volatile 5×6 cash collect slot with serious potential but a brutal personality. Today’s test run was rough — lots of teases, lots of potential, but no Rainbow when it mattered. Despite the disappointing session, the slot’s 15,000x max win and explosive bonus rounds make it a strong choice for players who enjoy high-risk, high-reward gameplay. It won’t suit everyone, but when it hits, it can hit massive.
